The Cape Innovation & Technology Initiative (CiTi) is a Non-Profit Company with a mission to build a future-proof, inclusive society through technology and innovation. 

CiTi was established in 1999 and works at the intersection of business, government and society to positively shape the future of the economy and society with the use of innovation and technology. Its headquarters are located in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

Citi has niche-specific programmes: 

1. BioCiT is a platform for biotech entrepreneurs to turn ideas into creative solutions.
2. Injini is Africa's edtech

LaunchLab is an initiative of Innovus, situated in the centre of Stellenbosch University’s campus. LaunchLab focuses on developing both the entrepreneur as well as the business.  It functions as a business accelerator and boosts entrepreneurship on campus by providing networking opportunities, mentoring and affordable rental rates in an entrepreneur-friendly environment. The business accelerator is open to external start-up companies who would like to benefit from the entrepreneurial services on offer, as well as internal or external service providers who are able to provide mentoring, support

Akro is a company dedicated to helping entrepreneurs turn ideas into businesses.

It offers events, venture funding and consulting services, and it has a practical approach to entrepreneurship.

The team members have their own businesses and understand the challenges facing entrepreneurs and start-ups.

FoodPrint Labs is a Cape Town based start-up that is on a mission to digitise food supply chains in Sub-Saharan Africa, and in the process improve the economic welfare of smallholder farmers. FoodPrint Labs is developing the FoodPrint supply chain platform to simplify and standardise production and operational data collection for smallholder farmers and provide them with access to markets and service. Using FoodPrint, smallholder farmers log their production and operational data via an easy to use WhatsApp chatbot; intermediaries order produce in bulk directly from farmers; and in future

GreenFingers Mobile is a digital smallholder farmer management platform that connects smallholder farmers to market and finance. The platform brings real-time data and transparency to all engagements with smallholder farmers and enables organisations to track the change of livelihood of the farmers.

GroSpace is an innovative e-commerce marketplace designed to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers. We empower farmers by providing easy access to a digital marketplace, enabling them to showcase and sell their products directly to customers.

Our platform allows farmers, whether in rural or urban areas, to effortlessly market their products using just a smartphone. Farmers can simply snap a photo of their products, upload it to GroSpace, set a price, and our dedicated market agents take care of the rest, ensuring the products reach the right buyers.

The company offers its members access to a 0% interest home loan to ensure a fairer, more inclusive and much higher success rate of homeownership, unlike conventional interest-bearing facilities.

Biotikum (Pty) Ltd is a proudly South African spinout company of the University of Stellenbosch which was founded in 2020.  Biotikum develops and produces microbial additives for the agricultural industry, including host-specific animal probiotics, microbial silage inoculants, and soil inoculants.  The use of microbial additives is an environmentally friendly means to promote sustainable farming practices and improves profitability.  In the future, Biotikum aims to provide large-scale microbial production services to various industries in Africa.
