The core business of the centre is to transform youth from job seekers into job creators. Centre area of specialisation is Renewable energy (focus) and Generic (sub focus). The centre was officially launched on 21st April 2017 by the Honourable Minister Lindiwe Zulu. Centre is the product of the partnership between the Department of Small Business Development and the Department of Higher Education and Training. CFE is administrated by SEDA and Goldfields TVET College. Goldfields TVET College CFE is supporting its incubatees in the form of equipped working space, coaching, mentoring and advice

The main purpose of the Centre is to transform job seekers (focus on youth and vocational skilled students/graduates) into job creators. The centre aims to develop self-sustainable entrepreneurs (start and grow) who can make a contribution to the economy of Sekhukhune District (ultimately the country) and become fully-fledged and legally compliant economically sustainable SMEs. This will contribute to alleviating poverty and address the high youth unemployment rate in the Sekhukhune district.

The mission of the Centre is to inculcate entrepreneurial thinking in the delivery of College vocational and occupational programmes, which will support and stimulate an entrepreneurial economy. The model is to identify current students/graduates who meet the criteria for being a potential entrepreneur, and take them through the steps below to become entrepreneurs through formal training and practical business experience so that they can  ultimately establish their own businesses.

 

The programme seeks to accelerate the growth and success of entrepreneurial enterprises and allow for a culture of entrepreneurship among graduates. This is done through a number of business and technology support not limited to physical space, business infrastructure, coaching, common services, and market access. The Centre for Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (CFERI) accelerates economic growth, job creation and poverty eradication. Secondly, the CFERI promotes research and development within the business incubation ecosystem.

Centre for Social Entrepreneurship (CSE) is a rapid business incubator that was established at the Durban University of Technology in 2015 at ML Sultan campus, funded by Small Enterprise Development Agency to develop and support small businesses within Durban surroundings. 

The purpose of the centre is to infuse creativity into the entrepreneurial mindset of students and external communities. By identifying problems that could be addressed using creative solutions for key socio-economic challenges such as high levels of unemployment, inequality and poverty.

False Bay Centre for Entrepreneurship provides innovative business incubation and development support services in the False Bay area of Cape Town.

The mission of the CFERI is to:

  • Inculcate entrepreneurial thinking in the delivery of College vocational and occupational programmes which will support and stimulate an entrepreneurial economy.
  • Inspire young college graduates to become entrepreneurs as an attractive career choice and train these graduates through formal training and practical business experience.
  • The CFERI will also support existing businesses in the Khayelitsha and Mitchells

The Centre for Entrepreneurship & Rapid Incubator (CfERI) was launched by the Vaal University of Technology in partnership with SEDA, Department Small Business Development (DSBD) in November 2017. The CfERI transitioned to Sol Plaatje University on 01 June 2021.

The purpose of the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Rapid Incubator:

  • encourage entrepreneurship amongst the youth and the unemployed.
