About the Due Diligence Fund

The Due Diligence Fund (DDF) is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), as part of the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative (SASI). Now in its fifth round, the DDF has already supported 30 projects across four previous rounds since 2022.

FCI4Africa — Fair food and trade systems for Africa through food convergence innovation is a Horizon Europe-funded project responding to the growing demand for sustainable, fair, and just food trade between Africa and Europe.

About the Grant

MetaMeta, on behalf of ZOA, has opened a Call for Proposals for the SIPRA Challenge Fund – Large Grant Facility, part of the Strengthening Inclusive Partnerships for Smallholders in Rainfed Areas (SIPRA) programme. SIPRA is a four-year initiative funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and implemented by a consortium of four partners: ZOA, World Relief, SOS Sahel Sudan, and Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI), with technical assistance provided by MetaMeta for agribusiness and challenge fund management.

About the Grant

The Jennifer Ward Oppenheimer (JWO) Research Grant is a prestigious funding opportunity awarding one grant of USD 150,000 to a single successful applicant to support a biodiversity and conservation-focused research project or programme based in or focused on Africa. The grant supports research over a period of up to three years and is designed to advance scientific knowledge while generating real, scalable solutions to African conservation and biodiversity challenges.

PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) has opened a call under its 2026 Annual Work Programme for Topic 1.1.1 - an Innovation Action (IA) focused on developing and validating decentralised, renewable-energy-powered brackish water desalination systems tailored for smallholder and peri-urban farmers across the Mediterranean region.

PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) has opened a call under its 2026 Annual Work Programme for Topic 1.2.1  - an Innovation Action (IA) focused on developing and validating the next generation of sustainable, circular, and regionally adapted animal feed solutions for Mediterranean livestock and aquaculture farming systems.

The Stellenbosch Climate-Smart Farming Support Programme is a targeted agricultural support initiative designed to help emerging and smallholder farmers in the Stellenbosch region adopt climate-smart farming practices through access to digital tools, environmental insights, and technical training.

This programme is delivered through a collaboration between Stellenbosch Municipality, Stellenbosch Network and TerraClim, and aims to strengthen sustainable agricultural planning, climate resilience, and farm development in the region.
