Knysna Municipality is launching a programme to assist dynamic and committed entrepreneurs in growing their businesses. Successful applicants will receive a range of non-financial assistance, including business development interventions and training.

The following criteria are applicable for applicants:

  • This programme is not targeting start-up businesses.
  • Previous beneficiaries of the SMME incubator programme are not eligible to apply.
  • Applications are only open to applicants operating an existing business for more than 12 months and who want to grow and expand their businesses but who have not benefitted from the program before.
  • The business must be operating within the Greater Knysna and must be 51% Black Owned.
  • Applications must be done through submission of an official Application Form issued by the municipality.

When applying, the following supporting documents must be attached:

  • A Business Plan or Business Profile (must include a breakdown of the equipment needed)
  • 6 Months profit and loss summary (Income statement)
  • 6 months Bank Statements (Business account)
  • Confirmation of Employees (Document must be attached to the application form)
  • Company Documents (CIPC)
  • Tax Clearance
  • Certified Copy of owner’s Identity Document
  • Proof of address (not older than 3 months)

A rigorous selection process will be conducted in stages:

Stage 1: Applicants must complete and submit the application form with all relevant attachments to the municipality.
Stage 2: Shortlisted applicants will be required to present their business expansion proposal to the selection panel.
Stage 3: The municipality will communicate ONLY with successful applicants.
