We are a Social Enterprise focusing on solving the cooking needs of rural schools and communities in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) region. We design and sell fuel-efficient stoves, which use biomass/wood fuel. The stoves use half of the fuel normally required for open fires and are a lot safer to use due to a closed gasification process for combustion. We also make and sell a cheap reliable fuel source.

Innovus manages the commercialisation of the University innovation and intellectual property portfolio through patenting, licensing and the formation of spin-out companies. We carry out all technology transfer, entrepreneurial support and development and innovation at the University. One of South Africa's oldest university tech transfer offices and one of its most successful, we have spun out 23 companies, licensed 67 technologies and filed 114 international patents.

Founded in 1904, Rhodes University has a well-established reputation for academic excellence. With just over 8200 students, Rhodes is a small University, which enjoys the distinction of having among the best undergraduate pass and graduation rates in South Africa, outstanding postgraduate success rates, and the best research output per academic staff member. This research-rich environment is also a massive resource for innovation, and technology transfer activities started at Rhodes University in 2010 in the Research Office.
