The Institute for Advanced Tooling (IAT) is based at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Soshanguve South Campus.
IAT-TUT key objectives are to:

• Improve the competitiveness of SMEs in the tooling industry through the growing of highly skilled and educated workers with challenging jobs, which are capable to deliver quality products and processes that meet the OEM requirements.
• Deliver a new paradigm of high added value tools and tool-making business models that will reposition tool and diemakers as key strategic partners in the value chain in accordance with relevant industry needs

We are a South African medical technology business that has developed Bluetooth sensor technology for measuring movement and Range of Motion (ROM) for implementation in the Allied Health Sciences (Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Biokinetics / Biomechanics, Sports Science, and Chiropractor). We are The Movement Data Company (TM) and are passionate about tracking and monitoring movement and assisting with predictive medicine using our technology.  We have been nominated - and were finalists for - 2 innovation awards in 2018 including the MTN App of the Year (Healthcare) and Gauteng Accelerator Project

This Institute of Advanced Tooling (IAT) is based at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) Buffalo City, satellite Campus in East London. IATWSU focuses mainly on mechanical design,  concept and product development, metrology (3rd party measurement), analysis, skills development and more recently, advanced manufacturing and reverse engineering.

The strategic objectives of the station are to provide technology support services and training to the (predominantly) regional manufacturing sector, SME's, inventors, individuals, academic partners and in some cases large companies.

Young people can discover high-value tech and creative careers through our community content platform, Ez’Ntswembu. Anyone interested can start learning immediately through our online learning application process. The most successful candidates from our online learning are interviewed and assessed in-person. If selected, these young people enter our full-time, paid, on-the-job training programme where they learn human-centred design, Agile, and specialise in a scarce tech and creative skill

Our platform can connect to any device with an electronic heartbeat, to be utilized to trigger an alert.  The SaaS has various alert types namely:Rapid Emergency Response,  Rapid Tourist Response (Dept of Tourism), Rapid Woman 911 (Domestic Violence alert), Rapid Asset Protection and more.The technology has three unique characteristics:-    it tracks and trace the victim/asset crime/injured and can determine its location a eight-meter radius every 15 seconds;-    It provides essential information to security and medical personnel detailed information about you e.g. age, allergies, medical aid
