PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) has opened a call under its 2026 Annual Work Programme for Topic 1.1.1 - an Innovation Action (IA) focused on developing and validating decentralised, renewable-energy-powered brackish water desalination systems tailored for smallholder and peri-urban farmers across the Mediterranean region.

The Stellenbosch Climate-Smart Farming Support Programme is a targeted agricultural support initiative designed to help emerging and smallholder farmers in the Stellenbosch region adopt climate-smart farming practices through access to digital tools, environmental insights, and technical training.

This programme is delivered through a collaboration between Stellenbosch Municipality, Stellenbosch Network and TerraClim, and aims to strengthen sustainable agricultural planning, climate resilience, and farm development in the region.

The PRIMA Programme has launched a new funding call under Thematic Area 3: Food Value Chain in the Nexus, supporting innovative solutions for sustainable on-site transformation of perishable Mediterranean agricultural products.

This call aims to reduce post-harvest losses, strengthen local value chains, and promote climate-resilient agri-food systems across Mediterranean regions. Projects should focus on developing decentralised, renewable-powered processing technologies that enhance product shelf life and increase local economic value.

The Eureka Global Biotech Call 2026 is now open, inviting international consortia to submit collaborative research and innovation projects in biotechnology.

This call supports cross-border biotech innovation projects aimed at developing new products, processes, or services with strong commercialisation potential.

The FSAT Labs TerraFoundry Programme is a 3-year climate-tech accelerator designed to support Western Cape-based green businesses ready to Rise, Raise and Scale.

The programme will support 120 climate-tech startups over three years, with 40 businesses selected for the 2026 cohort. TerraFoundry aims to accelerate innovative climate solutions through structured incubation, investor readiness, and market access support.
