Driving Open Innovation for a Sustainable Future
The G20 Open Innovation Platform of Platforms was established to support the implementation of the G20 Open Innovation Strategy. This strategy was adopted by the G20 Research and Innovation Working Group during Brazil’s presidency at the G20 summit in Manaus, Brazil. The platform was designed as a collaborative digital initiative to facilitate the strategy’s goals across all G20 member countries. Its purpose is to align the innovation activities and policies of member countries with the goals of the strategy.
Acting as a unified digital gateway, the platform provides centralized access to the innovation ecosystems of participating G20 nations and related regional organizations. It consolidates information about each country’s innovation programs, policies, and tools into one accessible portal. This comprehensive entry point enables researchers, businesses, policymakers, and investors to explore and engage with innovation initiatives from around the world in a streamlined and coherent manner.
The platform aims to achieve several key objectives. It seeks to expand access to existing G20 innovation initiatives and facilitate collaboration among G20 members and their international partners. Additionally, it strives to address global challenges by fostering shared innovation solutions. To this end, the platform brings together researchers, businesses, investors, and government representatives from different countries to co-develop and implement solutions to common problems. By connecting diverse stakeholders, the platform supports collective efforts to drive progress and tackle pressing global issues through innovation.
