“STI for All”: A Compendium of Good Practices in STI Policy

This compendium summarises current G20 efforts to advance inclusive science, technology and innovation (STI) with a focus on closing the gender gap in science. Building on the G20 Recommendations on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility in STI, endorsed in Brazil and expanded by South Africa, it showcases real-world strategies—from scholarships and awards to gender-responsive policies—advancing equal participation across the STI landscape. Covering over 1000 policy initiatives drawn from G20 members and guest countries, with the use of an intersectional lens, the compendium is a comprehensive resource illuminating fresh insights and proven tools to build more inclusive, innovative futures. It is a go-to knowledge resource for policymakers and stakeholders committed to making “STI for all” a global reality. The compendium was compiled by South Africa’s Human Sciences Research Council, in collaboration with the OECD and UNESCO, using the EC-OECD STIP Compass as the main data resource.
