Sphindile Xulu, a graduate with an Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Community Development, was inspired to make a difference in her community. Witnessing the high unemployment rate and food insecurity, she embarked on a journey to create AGRIGLAM, a farming project that would not only address these issues but also empower the youth.

By planting a variety of vegetables, she ensures that her community has access to fresh, affordable produce. Moreover, Sphindile's crop protection training equips the youth with valuable skills, steering them away from harmful practices like drug and alcohol abuse.

“AGRIGLAM's impact extends far beyond food security and job creation. It is a beacon of hope, inspiring the youth to follow their dreams and contribute positively to their communities,” she says.

Financial constraints and self-doubt were constant challenges she faced. "The road to success is paved with losses and mistakes, but as long as you do not lose sight of your ultimate destination, you can achieve anything," says Sphindile.

Sphindile's advice to other female entrepreneurs is simple yet profound: "Take the first step and never look back. Challenges are there to make you stronger. Believe in yourself, associate with positive people, and shine brightly."
