The National Research Foundation is inviting you to submit proposals for the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory Community Development Grants.

Areas

  • The grant committee is interested in projects in the following areas:
    • Early Childhood Development
    • Literacy Programs
    • Youth Development Programmes
    • Sports, and Recreational Activities
    • Arts, Culture and Indigenous Knowledge Systems
    • Community Safety
    • Anti-Alcohol & Drug Abuse
    • Any other social challenge in the community

They will be looking at:

  • Relevance of your project
  • Project objectives and outcomes
  • Proof of financial need
  • A viable and realistic budget
  • The envisaged impact and benefit of your project
  • The project implementation plan (timelines, expenditure plan, beneficiaries, etc.)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Organisations and/or individuals who are part of or are involved in a community development programme, are eligible for the SARAO Community Development Grant.
