"Challenges are there as a reminder for me to work hard and be innovative within my business," says Sibongile V. Mthimunye, the founder of BWGL Group, a cleaning service with a difference.

Sibongile V. Mthimunye is not just passionate about spotless homes and offices, but she is on a mission to revolutionize the cleaning industry with an eco-friendly twist. BWGL Group uses only non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning products, ensuring a healthy environment for both clients and staff. But Sibongile's vision extends far beyond sparkling surfaces.

"I wanted to create a business that empowers women and youth from underserved communities," she explains. BWGL Group provides much-needed job opportunities, fostering financial independence and a brighter future for those who might otherwise struggle to find work. Currently, they have employed 12 women as Cleaning Specialists, one Human Resources Practitioner and one young woman as a Marketing and Sales Assistant. The group also provides mentorship sessions and skills transfer opportunities to the youth.

Double Duty for the Planet

BWGL Group does not just clean, they clean green. Their focus on water conservation techniques minimizes their environmental impact. In an era where sustainability is paramount, Sibongile's commitment to eco-friendly practices is a breath of fresh air.

Breaking Barriers in a Male-Dominated Industry

Building a business from the ground up is no easy feat and as a female entrepreneur in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Sibongile faced additional challenges. "Visibility was a hurdle. Large companies with significant resources often outshined us" she admits. But Sibongile, a woman of unwavering determination, refused to be discouraged.

Instead of competing with them head-on, she explains, "I decided to focus on a specific market segment, carving out a niche for myself." This strategic move allowed BWGL Group to establish a strong presence and loyal customer base.

A Beacon for Aspiring Women

For aspiring female entrepreneurs navigating their own challenges, Sibongile offers a powerful message: "Stay focused on your vision – remember why you started and never hesitate to ask for support. Building a network of mentors and fellow entrepreneurs can provide invaluable guidance and encouragement. Lastly, we urge big companies to collaborate and collaborate with us in our activities and make a bigger impact in our society"

Ms Mthimunye is more than just a cleaning service provider, she is a pioneer in proving that success can be achieved with a focus on environmental and social responsibility.
