Science Spaza

Science Spaza brings exciting, interactive and fun curriculum-linked learning opportunities to a growing network of science clubs across South Africa. Science Spaza, a STEAMi (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths and innovation) initiative, aims to improve science literacy and reveal to young people the power of science and technology in transforming their world. Science Spaza addresses the lack of resources and activity-based learning opportunities, which have resulted in a poor understanding of key science and math concepts. In the past year, Science Spaza has partnered with over 140 science clubs, nationally. Science Spaza is managed under the auspices of a Non-Profit organization, the Yazi Centre for Science and Society in Africa, and is an initiative of Jive Media Africa, a leading science communication agency, working with national and international clients to translate science and research for wide range of public audiences.
