Overview of innovation

The PAGA is an all-in-one anthropometric device designed for preterm and fragile infants, providing accurate, minimally invasive growth measurements in hospital and clinic settings, including low-resource environments. It captures all key metrics in one tool: weight, length, head circumference, foot length, and gestational age (calculated using a built-in algorithm).
A major advantage of PAGA is that it can take these measurements without removing the infant from the incubator or disconnecting the nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). This is a breathing support system that delivers gentle, continuous airflow through soft nasal prongs to help preterm infants keep their lungs open. Avoiding disconnection reduces stress, heat loss, infection risk, and cross-contamination.
The device connects to a mobile app (iOS/Android) via Bluetooth, which displays and interprets the measurements using standardised digital growth charts and stores all data securely in the cloud. This supports timely, informed decisions by neonatologists, paediatricians, and dietitians.
With no comparable all-in-one system currently available, PAGA offers a practical, scalable solution for improving both immediate and long-term growth monitoring in preterm infants.
