ITHALETHU MAINTENANCE HOLDINGS PTY LTD is an integrated maintenance innovation for Buffalo City Metro. We provide one contract for all maintenance needs: plumbing, electrical, painting, cleaning, building repairs and landscaping.

INNOVATION: Our innovation is a Centralised Booking and Job-Tracking Model. Client books once via WhatsApp Business / Phone, we create a digital job card, assign vetted technicians from our Mdantsane hub database (12 technicians profiled), track with GPS check-in from our company bakkie, and close job with photo proof and client OTP. Unlike traditional township providers who use verbal quotes and paper, we use standard price book, central database, and digital status: Booked > Assigned > In-Progress > Quality Check > Done. Platform is currently Google Workspace + job sheets transitioning to low-code mobile app. 

PROBLEM: Fragmented providers, slow response 2-3 days, 60% no-shows, inconsistent quality causing downtime in BCMM buildings, schools, clinics and homes.

DEVELOPMENT (TRL2 - Practical Application): SOP, technician database, price book and paper job card developed and tested. Manual model used for 3 residential jobs Mdantsane NU1/NU6 and 1 small business in 2025 with WhatsApp logs and before/after photos as evidence. Currently in use, needs digitalisation and transport to scale.

NEXT MILESTONE: 3 months - Develop mobile app + procure company bakkie (Toyota Hilux/NP200) for daily transport of 4 cleaners, tools, chemicals. 6 months - Pilot 20 clients (10 residential, 5 commercial, 5 BCMM trial), target response <4 hours vs 48hrs traditional, 95% completion rate to reach TRL4/5.

MARKET: Residential Mdantsane/Amalinda/Beacon Bay, Commercial shops/landlords East London, Government BCMM/Dept Education. BCMM spends millions on cleaning/maintenance. Our advantage: 100% Black-owned, B-BBEE Level 1, local (BCMM locality points), youth-owned, one-stop, own transport.

FUNDING: We seek Funding, Collaboration, Partnership. R350,000 required: R150k second-hand bakkie (cuts R800/day hire cost by 70%, ensures on-time SLA, branded marketing), R70k app development, R50k tools/PPE/chemicals, R50k working capital for salaries before BCMM 30-day payment, R30k insurance/tracking/branding/COIDA/CSD. This will make us tender-ready and operational.
