The Innovation Hub Business Incubation Programme - 2025/2026 Intake
The Innovation Hub, Gauteng’s flagship innovation agency, is inviting applications for its comprehensive Business Incubation Programme for startups driving innovation in the Green Economy (energy, water, waste), Bio-economy (health, agro/food-processing, diagnostics, medical devices, smart agriculture), and Smart Industries (ICT, advanced manufacturing, gaming, animation, VR/AR, industrial IoT, cyber security, AI, additive manufacturing).
Through sector-specific incubators Climate Innovation Centre (CIC), BioPark Business Incubator, Maxum Smart Business Incubator, and eKasiLabs, the programme provides tailored business development support, mentorship, technical advisory, IP assistance, networking, subsidised office and manufacturing space, and market access in collaboration with leading partners such as the World Bank’s InfoDev, the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD), eGoliBio, and local government and academia.
Eligible applicants must:
- Be registered businesses with majority South African ownership
- Be predominantly based in or committed to expanding into Gauteng
- Work in priority sectors and have developed their product/service beyond ideation to at least prototype stage
- Show novelty/market fit, protectable IP, strong technical/business teams, and significant socio-economic impact (jobs, youth/women ownership, poverty alleviation, Township Economic Revitalisation)
