Overview of Business

Andile Nkosenhle Vilakazi and Isago Kaitshane are co-founders and managers of Drone Eye Technology which was established in 2019 to ensure that farmers meet the growing demand and on-going need for fresh vegetables in South Africa. This will be achieved through using two concepts, Tech-driven Organic Crop Protection which is designed for small scale farmers and Precision Agriculture made better through Drone Eye Technology which is designed for large scale farmers. Crop Management is the most important task on a farm; the crop management cycle is split into six phases, namely, planning, preparation, planting, growing, harvesting and marketing. Tech-driven Organic Crop Protection and Solar Powered Drone technology can provide support at every stage of the crop cycle.

Andile Vilakazi is a farmer with six years’ experience which I obtained from farming co-operative; He have gone through trial and error period and learnt my lessons. He is studying his final year towards BSc Degree in Environmental Management, majoring in Botany through UNISA. Therefore, with that experience and my academic knowledge in Botany he discovered that Tech-driven Organic Crop Protection and Solar Powered Drone technology display better results in quality crop, high crop yields and meeting market demand while reducing costs and increasing profits. Precision Agriculture is a brain of a farmer, and Drone Technology can be the body of a farmer.

Isago Kaitshane holds Bachelor of Art in Development and Management, Postgraduate certificate in Education and Certificate in Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion for the University of Luneburg, Germany. Drone Eye Technology is pushing the boundaries of crop protection, lifting agricultural efficiency to new heights and opening more possibilities for the future of agriculture.
