Docusign Foundation – Agreements for Good Grant Programme
The Docusign Foundation’s “Agreements for Good” programme provides grant funding to support multi-stakeholder collaborations that address complex global challenges through structured agreements, governance models, and shared accountability mechanisms.
Unlike traditional funding that focuses on project delivery, this programme specifically invests in how organisations work together, funding the design and implementation of agreements that enable durable, cross-sector collaboration.
Funding Focus Areas
The programme supports collaborations operating within three priority areas:
- Environment & Sustainability
Supporting agreements that enable coordinated action for climate resilience and environmental outcomes - Data Privacy & Security
Strengthening digital trust, responsible data use, and governance in an AI-driven world - Future of Work
Advancing inclusive economic systems, workforce stability, and equitable access to opportunities
What is Funded
Funding is specifically targeted at collaborative infrastructure and agreement-building, including:
- Development of governance structures and shared frameworks
- Design of formal agreements between organisations
- Facilitation, convening, and coordination across partners
- Prototype partnerships and backbone coordination functions
The programme is designed to support systems-level collaboration, not standalone project delivery.
Funding Structure
- One-time grants: USD 20,000 – 100,000
- Multi-year grants: Up to USD 200,000 per year (maximum 2 years)
Funding must be directly tied to collaboration-building activities.
Indirect costs (e.g. overheads, general operations) are not eligible.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be multi-organisational collaborations:
- Minimum:
- 2 organisations (for one-time grants)
- 3 organisations (for multi-year grants)
- Must demonstrate:
- Shared decision-making and accountability
- Clearly defined roles across partners
- Active collaboration (not subcontracting or coordination only)
Lead Applicant Requirements
- Must be an eligible nonprofit entity (or global equivalent)
- May include NGOs, charities, or public sector entities acting as the backbone organisation
Geographic Scope
- Open to global applicants
- Supports both local and international collaborations
What is NOT Funded
- Single-organisation projects or service delivery programmes
- Networks focused only on knowledge sharing or training
- Advocacy or political campaigns
- Regranting intermediaries
- For-profit entities or individuals
- Projects without a clear agreement-building component
Key Considerations for Applicants
- Strong applications demonstrate why agreement (not just action) is required
- Focus is on long-term collaboration mechanisms, not short-term outputs
- Emphasis on governance, accountability, and shared decision-making
- Funding supports the process of collaboration, not just outcomes
