Grassroots Innovation

The Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa #MoreThanAWoman initiative will support the development of a docuseries intended to spotlight grassroot women innovators and promote their entrepreneurial stories. Through storytelling, this docuseries will elevate the voices of promising and/or successful women innovators, especially those with previously untold stories, and showcase their potential for further investment, growth and scalability.

By highlighting these role models and success stories, the #MoreThanAWoman initiative aims to demonstrate the true worth of grassroots women innovators in contributing towards a thriving economy and innovation ecosystem.  They deserve an equal seat at the investment table.

Innovators selected for the docuseries will be invited to record a short video showcasing their work with videographers supplied Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa. As part of the #MoreThanAWoman initiative, they will also receive business planning and pitch training, and be provided with the opportunity to share their work with key investors and ecosystem players at a showcase event.
