Join the Next Biosciences for an interactive week in biotechnology at their laboratory in Midrand, Johannesburg. You will learn about the science and commercial application of cutting-edge biotechnology, with an entrepreneurial edge. From Stem Cells, to Genetics, to Biologics, they have a collaborative week (From 30 June to 04 July 2025) full of practical exposure to expand your understanding of the application of science in the real world.  The week will culminate in a Dragon’s Den simulation, where you will have the opportunity to pitch your start-up idea to a panel of experts.

Applications are open to both local and international undergraduate candidates.

The programme is fully funded, however travel and accommodation will be for your own expense. Places are limited to 20 participants.

In order to be considered for the programme, you need to meet the below criteria: 

  • Applicant must be in an undergraduate position in tertiary education or doing their A-levels
  • Should be studying a BSc/Btech or equivalent with subjects in one or more of the following: Genetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Physiology, Histology, Biology (or equivalent)
