Breaking Barriers in Construction: Galo Maarohanye and GVM Civils and Building Maintenance
Driven by a passion for shattering gender stereotypes, Galo Maarohanye founded GVM Civils and Building Maintenance, a company carving its own path in South Africa's construction landscape.
"I was inspired to be a pioneer, to break the boundaries that have held women back in construction for so long. We are not just creating jobs, we are building structures that will benefit generations to come, safe and secure spaces that will stand the test of time," she says.
Galo's journey as a female entrepreneur has not been without its hurdles. "Lack of opportunity was a major challenge. Financial support and access to resources were scarce, but I did not back down," she emphasizes. She constantly looked out for opportunities and positioned herself with such confidence that when a chance arose, she was ready.
Her unwavering determination serves as a beacon of inspiration for other aspiring female entrepreneurs. Galo urges entrepreneurs to find their strength in faith and not be afraid of failures as they are stepping stones to doing better.
