AMOR – Associação Moçambicana de Reciclagem is a Mozambican non-profit organisation founded in 2009 and based in Maputo, with an operational office in Beira (Sofala). AMOR promotes the circular economy through community-based collection, sorting and valorisation of recyclable solid waste, with a strong focus on coastal and marine litter. Its flagship mechanism, Blue Coins, rewards local collectors, many of them women and youth, for recovering plastic and other recyclables. Collected volumes are traced through the KOLEKT digital platform. AMOR works with communities, protected areas, municipalities, schools and the private sector. It supports waste micro-entrepreneurs, links collectors to recycling markets, and delivers environmental education and awareness campaigns across Maputo, Matutuine and Sofala.
