Overview of the Africa Food Show
The Africa Food Show is scheduled for three days: Wednesday to Friday, 10 – 12 June 2026. The event runs daily from 10AM to 5PM.
The show is hosted in Cape Town, South Africa, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre 1 (CTICC 1).
Historically, the 2026 event follows a successful rebrand in 2025 from the previous event known as Africa’s Big 7.
Participants and Audience
The event is designed for trade and industry professionals. Admission is free for these professionals, but visitors under the age of 18 are not permitted.
The primary audience includes:
• Trade Visitors: The show expects 8000+ trade visitors and professionals from more than 60 participating countries.
• Buyers and Decision-Makers: Attendees include key decision-makers from leading retail chains, distributors, restaurants, and hospitality groups. The event connects suppliers and buyers from across sub-Saharan Africa.
• Exhibitors: Over 350 exhibitors are expected. Exhibitors represent businesses across the food value chain seeking to generate high-quality leads, launch new products, and expand into new African markets.

The Africa Food Show is defined as Africa’s key food & beverage (F&B) sourcing event. Its main purpose is to connect global trends with local innovation, serving as a gateway to Africa's F&B market.

1. Sourcing and Product Showcase: The show focuses on retail-ready products and practical solutions, allowing buyers to source from major names in the F&B industry.
2. Show Sectors: The event covers various specific sectors, including Retail-ready Food (e.g., Dairy products, Frozen & chilled products), Beverages (e.g., Wine, Soft drinks, Energy drinks), Technology Solutions (e.g., Logistics, Packaging machinery, Retail technology), Bakery, Catering & Bulk, and New Trends (e.g., Plant based protein, Vegan, Non-GMO).
3. Africa Food Summit: The event incorporates the Africa Food Summit, where participants can learn about emerging regional F&B trends and strategies for sustainable growth.
4. Live Competitions and Demos: Show features include LIVE CULINARY SHOWDOWNS such as the Game of Chefs, the National Burger Challenge, and the National Pizza Challenge, celebrating local talent. It also hosts CHEFS COLLECTIVE DEMOS, where renowned chefs share skills and signature dishes.
5. Co-located Event: The Africa Food Show runs alongside the Hotel & Hospitality Expo Africa in the same venue, giving exhibitors access to professionals from both the food/beverage and hospitality sectors.
