6th Annual Township Economy Summit and Expo

The Township Entrepreneurs Alliance (TEA) is proud to host the inaugural Township Economy Awards 2024 in Tembisa, City of Ekurhuleni! This national award ceremony will honour innovative entrepreneurs eKasi who have made a significant impact within their communities, showcasing their resilience, creativity and commitment to economic growth. 

This 2-day summit is the premier event for township entrepreneurs, corporate South Africa and government to connect in an inclusive manner. It will be bringing together over 1,000 innovative township business owners from across the country. Over the course of this two-day summit, it stands as the ultimate platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products, exhibit their businesses, engage in panel discussions, learn and engage in valuable networking opportunities.

The summit is themed 'Inclusive Economic Future' with a key focus on information sharing, opportunities and market access. The event will be unpacking sectors that are driving growth in townships: the Green Economy, Manufacturing, Wholesale & Retail, Automotive, Technology and Construction.

Throughout the two days, industry leaders and black business pioneers who have significantly contributed to the development of small businesses within the township economy will be featured. This summit is hosted in conjunction with the Township Economy Awards.
