4iRsmart aims to meet and address the broad objectives for the 4th Industrial Revolution as defined by the World Economic Forum, viz.[1]

The organisation is constituted from the established practices of core partners to render digital operations, in a managed services manner, to specifically enable and support identification and traceability centric business operations and initiatives that, typically, incorporate sensor based activities and the provisioning of broadband connectivity in geographically underdeveloped areas.
Core digital operations for the foundational digital operations of 4iRsmart are provided by the founding members in the key disciplines of platform development, connectivity and customer experience centres.
Native to the need to enable the insights and activities associated with 4IR centric digital operations, is the fundamental requirement for an encompassing Identification, Tracking and Tracing architecture and associated operations together with the central administration of the practice.
This practice is referred to as ITT (Identification, Tracking and Tracing) and is uniquely, and exclusively, rendered, in the Agriculture sector, by 4iRsmart, for programmes managed within the Sustainable Agriculture Value Chain (SAVC) framework.
The practice, encompassing the ITT architecture, is integral to the SAVC Value Chain platform modules, as is the administrative and governance services required to facilitate the single-point-of-control for ITT operations.
