Activated carbon Local production Nut shells Marula Macadamia
Overview:

Activated Carbon: Local Production Using Local Nuts The invention describes a novel method of producing activated carbon from locally available nut shells. The invention provides a method to carry out carbonation and physical activation simultaneously via a pyrolysis process. This process produces activated carbon from Marula and Macadamia nut shells. The activated carbon can be used in ‘enviro-filters’, such as point-of-use drinking water filters, as they are effective in removing select, potentially toxic metal ions found in drinking water.
