Overview of Business

Vonnie Projects is an award winning South African agritech and circular economy enterprise that converts underutilised agricultural and plant biomass into sustainable livestock feed and bioenergy products. Our flagship innovations, Tokosickle™ Feed, and Dungbrix Biofuel Briquettes™, address critical challenges related to livestock feed affordability, agricultural waste management, energy access and rural economic development.

Tokosickle™ Feed is currently in small-scale production for validation and pre-commercial deployment. The product has undergone nutritional and microbiological testing and is supported by intellectual property. We are preparing a controlled validation trial of 24 Dorper sheep to evaluate feed acceptance, animal performance and practical farm application. Current production includes biomass processing, crushing, milling, and pelletising.

Dungbrix™ Biofuel Briquettes have been developed and tested as a waste-to-value energy solution produced from plant and organic biomass, providing an alternative tested fuel source for households and small businesses. The innovation is currently progressing through product optimization and market readiness activities. Commercial-scale manufacturing has not yet commenced.

Pilot preparation activities for Tokosickle™ Feed are underway, including production trial feed and engagement with livestock stakeholders. Initial validation activities are focused in Limpopo Province, with expansion to region replication following successful completion of the controlled trial.

Our primary customers for Tokosickle™ include smallholder, emerging and commercial farmers, agricultural cooperatives and feed distribution partners seeking affordable and sustainable feed solutions. Dungbrix™ targets rural households, informal businesses, food vendors and institutional users requiring affordable, cleaner-burning biomass fuel alternatives.

We are seeking grant and seed funding to transition from validation-stage production to commercial manufacturing. Funding will complete the 24 Dorper sheep Tokosickle™ trial, improve production consistency and strengthen evidence for market acceptance and prepare for wider commercialization. Longer funding will support modular rural production factory and accelerate market entry.

Our immediate growth priorities are completing product validation, strengthening manufacturing capabilities and establishing market traction in South Africa. As production capacity and commercial adoption increase, we intend expanding into Southern Africa and other African markets where livestock feed affordability, agricultural waste utilisation, energy access and climate resilience remain significant challenges. Through this growth, Vonnie Projects aims to establish decentralised rural production factory that creates jobs, support farmers and transform biomass waste into economic opportunity.
