OVERVIEW OF THE BUSINESS
Our business is an emerging agribusiness focused primarily on agricultural commodities trading, paddy rice sourcing and supply, and livestock production and retailing, with the long-term goal of developing an integrated agricultural value-chain business.
Our current primary focus is the sourcing, aggregation, trading and distribution of paddy rice and other agricultural commodities. We work to connect farmers and local suppliers with rice processors, wholesalers, retailers and other commercial buyers that require reliable supplies of quality agricultural produce. Our activities include identifying reliable sources, negotiating purchases, aggregating commodities, coordinating transportation, quality assessment and supplying buyers based on their quantity and quality requirements.
A second area of our agricultural development is cattle rearing and retailing. We intend to develop this into a structured livestock business involving the purchase, rearing, fattening and sale of cattle to traders, butchers, meat retailers and other livestock buyers. This provides an opportunity to participate in the livestock value chain while building another source of revenue alongside agricultural commodity trading.
The business is addressing challenges within Nigeria's agricultural value chain, particularly the difficulty of connecting farmers and local producers with reliable commercial markets, obtaining consistent quantities and quality of commodities, and improving the efficiency of agricultural supply and distribution. In paddy rice trading specifically, we see a significant market opportunity arising from the strong and continuous demand for rice in Nigeria and the need for reliable supplies to processors and other buyers.
Our primary business focus is agricultural commodities trading, particularly paddy rice, while cattle rearing and retailing is a complementary agricultural business that we intend to expand as the company grows. Logistics and transportation will support our agricultural supply operations and may be developed further in the future. Other registered activities, including gadgets and electronics, real estate and general trading, are considered future diversification areas and are not the current core focus of the business.
What Makes the Business Different and Innovative.
Our business aims to move beyond conventional commodity trading by developing an organized farmer-to-market aggregation and supply model. We intend to build reliable networks of farmers, local suppliers, processors and commercial buyers, while using market information, proper record keeping, quality assessment and coordinated logistics to improve the movement of agricultural commodities from producers to markets.
For paddy rice, our approach will focus on sourcing directly from producing communities and aggregating sufficient volumes to meet the requirements of processors and larger buyers. This can help reduce fragmentation in the supply chain and provide buyers with more reliable access to commodities.
In livestock, our approach will involve systematic cattle sourcing, rearing/fattening, proper record keeping and planned market timing to improve the value and profitability of cattle before retail.
The business also intends to progressively adopt digital tools for supplier and customer records, commodity price monitoring, inventory management, communication and transaction management. This will help us make better purchasing decisions, improve transparency and manage growth more efficiently.
Current Stage and Traction
The business is currently at the startup and market-development stage. We are developing supplier and buyer networks, studying commodity markets and building the relationships and operational capacity required to increase trading volumes.
Our immediate growth strategy is to establish a stronger position in paddy rice trading and supply, beginning with smaller transactions and progressively moving toward larger-volume supplies to rice processors, wholesalers and institutional buyers. We also intend to gradually build our cattle rearing and retailing operation as capital and operational capacity increase.
Our previous market research, engagement with agricultural commodity suppliers and buyers, and development of plans for paddy rice sourcing and livestock operations have helped us identify clear opportunities for expansion.
Market and Geographic Focus
The business currently targets agricultural markets in Nigeria, with particular interest in Northern Nigeria because of its strong agricultural production base and established commodity markets. Our initial focus is on sourcing paddy rice and other commodities from farming communities and supplying them to processors, wholesalers and other commercial buyers.
As the business grows, we intend to expand our sourcing network to additional agricultural-producing states and develop distribution relationships across Nigeria. In the longer term, we aim to explore opportunities to supply agricultural commodities to regional markets within West Africa.
Industries Served
The industries that most accurately reflect our current and planned core activities are:
Agriculture and Agribusiness
Agricultural Commodities Trading
Rice/Paddy Rice Supply and Distribution
Livestock and Cattle Production
Livestock Trading and Retailing
Agricultural Supply Chain and Distribution
Other registered activities such as real estate, gadgets/electronics and general trading are intended as future diversification opportunities rather than the present focus of the business.
GRANT FUNDING REQUIREMENTS
Grant funding would be used primarily to strengthen and expand our agricultural commodities trading and livestock operations.
A significant portion of the funding would support working capital for the purchase and aggregation of paddy rice and other agricultural commodities. It would also support storage and handling, transportation and logistics, commodity quality assessment, business technology and market development.
Part of the funding would also be use to purchase rice milling machines and land for building warehouse and infrastructural system which will create job opportunities for youth and woman in agriculture.
Part of the funding would be allocated toward establishing and expanding our cattle rearing and retailing operation, including the purchase of cattle, feeding/fattening, basic livestock facilities, veterinary support, transportation and working capital for livestock trading.
The funding would enable us to move from small-scale startup activities toward a more structured agricultural enterprise capable of handling larger volumes of commodities, developing reliable supply relationships with farmers, meeting the requirements of commercial buyers and creating employment opportunities.
In the medium to long term, our objective is to build an integrated agribusiness that participates in both the crop and livestock value chains, beginning with paddy rice trading and cattle rearing/retailing and progressively expanding into other high-demand agricultural commodities.
