Overview of Business

TaxiConnect is a tech-enabled platform aiming to digitize the South African minibus taxi industry, creating a safe, cashless and efficient ecosystem that connect commuters, drivers and taxi associations.

Problem it solves:
    •    Long commuter waiting times at taxi ranks, often leading to late arrivals at work.
    •    Safety and reliability concerns during early morning and late-night commutes.
    •    Cash handling inefficiencies and lack of transparency in driver earnings and association revenue.
    •    Coordination challenges among taxi associations, drivers, and routes.

How it works:
    •    For Commuters: Request and book seats in registered taxis, track taxis in real time, view estimated arrival times, and pay digitally via QR, cards, or app wallet.
    •    For Drivers: Receive clear pickup instructions, collect digital payments tied to unique driver codes, and optimize fuel use with association route data.
    •    For Taxi Associations: Monitor routes, driver performance, and revenue in real time; forecast commuter demand to deploy taxis efficiently.

Revenue Model:
    •    R5 flat fee per ride for commuters.
    •    Monthly subscription from taxi associations.
    •    Future premium features and app wallet monetization.

Vision:
To modernize South Africa’s taxi industry by creating a fully digital, transparent, and commuter-friendly transport ecosystem, increasing safety, efficiency, and profitability for all stakeholders.

Stage:
    •    Company officially registered (October 25, 2025).
    •    Market research ongoing, surveys underway validating real demand.
    •    MVP development in progress, targeting seamless multi-leg journeys and digital payment integration.
