SWEAT Africa Tech Event 2026 - Connecting Africa’s Deep-Tech Future
SWEAT Africa Tech Event 2026 is a purpose-driven, two-day experiential deep-technology and innovation festival taking place from 13–14 February 2026 at the Bertha Retreat in Stellenbosch, South Africa. It is designed to position Africa as a leading hub for innovation, investment and entrepreneurship by bringing together founders, startups, investors, researchers, ecosystem builders, mentors and industry partners from across the continent and internationally.
Rather than a traditional conference, SWEAT Africa is a community accelerator that blends high-impact programming with immersive shared experiences including curated pitch sessions, founder-investor storytelling panels, facilitated networking, outdoor activities, themed match-making opportunities such as Pitchin’ Picnics, and cultural elements like live music and communal meals all intended to foster authentic relationships and collaboration.
The event’s mission is to accelerate the growth of Africa’s deep-tech ecosystem by providing a structured yet dynamic space where early-stage innovators can access capital, mentorship, practical guidance and cross-border connections. Central to the programme is the participation of the Open Startup BRAIN 5.0 accelerator, delivered in partnership with MIT and Open Startup International, which amplifies startup readiness and investor exposure.
SWEAT Africa was conceived organically by African founders and ecosystem leaders who envisioned an event that breaks down silos, encourages risk-taking and truly reflects the energy and potential of the continent’s innovation landscape. The concept marries rigorous founder support with the informal camaraderie of shared challenge and experience echoing the ethos that real progress happens through connection, collaboration and community engagement.
This event serves as a bridge between invention and investment, purpose and partnership, and ambition and access ultimately inspiring Africa’s next generation of tech leaders and deep-tech enterprises to scale impact regionally and globally.
