Stellenbosch Climate-Smart Farming Support Programme 2026
The Stellenbosch Climate-Smart Farming Support Programme is a targeted agricultural support initiative designed to help emerging and smallholder farmers in the Stellenbosch region adopt climate-smart farming practices through access to digital tools, environmental insights, and technical training.
This programme is delivered through a collaboration between Stellenbosch Municipality, Stellenbosch Network and TerraClim, and aims to strengthen sustainable agricultural planning, climate resilience, and farm development in the region.
A total of 10 farmers will be selected to participate in a 12-month support programme, providing access to climate intelligence and environmental data to support informed agricultural decision-making.
Programme Benefits
Selected farmers will receive 12 months of access to the TerraClim Web App, including:
- Personalised farm profile and secure login
- Farm boundary setup and platform onboarding support
- Access to climate and environmental data layers
- Crop suitability and land potential analysis tools
- Climate risk insights including drought, heat and extreme weather
- Training guide and introductory workshop
- Tools to generate planning and development reports
- Support for farm planning, financing and insurance readiness

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must provide:
- Completed application form
- South African ID or valid identification
- Proof of land access (lease, title deed or municipal letter)
- Farm or company profile (location, size and activities)
- Basic farming experience (formal or informal)
- Short motivation outlining challenges and interest in climate-smart practices
