SKILPACK LTD
Skilpack Ltd is a Ugandan company that transforms natural agricultural fibres, especially from banana plants, into eco-friendly products. Founded in 2022, it operates in Njeru Municipality near Jinja, focusing on sustainability and community empowerment through training and job creation. We have had a breakthrough into innovation of the best banana fibre extension brand 'Banafine', which is exported globally with the support of the Ministry of Science, technology and Innovation.
Its mission is to support self-reliance and Uganda’s development, while its vision is to become a leading hub for eco-products and skills development. Skilpack processes banana fibres to create biodegradable products for fashion and home décor, including customizable rugs, hair extensions, and decorative items. In Research and Development, we have partnered with Tiangong University and Nytil Industry to make the first-ever sweater prototype from Banana fiber yarn.
The company emphasises zero waste by using all parts of the fibre. They also provide training programs in fibre processing and entrepreneurship to help youths and women earn livelihoods.
