Six-Strain Poultry Probiotic with Demonstrated Salmonella Reduction and Immune Enhancement
This innovation is a patented multi-strain probiotic composition developed specifically for poultry. The formulation comprises six bacterial strains (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Enterococcus faecalis, Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus johnsonii, Lactobacillus gallinarum and Lactobacillus crispatus) originally isolated from the gastrointestinal tract of healthy broiler chickens.
The strains were selected based on functional characteristics directly relevant to poultry health and performance. They demonstrate tolerance to simulated gastrointestinal conditions, strong adhesion to intestinal epithelial cells, and the ability to colonise the poultry gut. Several strains produce beneficial enzymes (including amylase, phytase and bile salt hydrolase) that support nutrient digestion and feed efficiency. Others produce antimicrobial compounds such as hydrogen peroxide, short-chain fatty acids and lipopeptides that inhibit pathogenic bacteria.
In vivo broiler studies demonstrates that the defined multi-strain formulation enhances immune responsiveness, reduces pathogen colonisation (including Salmonella), and supports improved growth performance. The composition is suitable for administration as a feed additive or water supplement and is designed for use as part of antibiotic-reduction or antibiotic-replacement strategies.
