Overview of Investor

Secha Capital is a patient capital holding company that invests in African SMEs looking to grow. We focus primarily on FMCG, Agri-business, healthcare, light manufacturing and business enabling sectors and work alongside founders to reach full potential.

Secha Capital is an early-stage impact private equity firm focused on Africa. Its Operator-Investor model gives small, growing businesses (SGBs) a unique advantage to solve the “missing middle” and “management gap”. This “growth and human capital” strategy creates long-term, replicable social and financial returns. Secha raised a $5M first fund in 2017 via which it invested in ten South African companies, creating 150+ jobs and growing each company 3-37x. Its second fund scales its Operator-Investor model at $30M ($50M hard cap). It focuses on established Southern Africa SGBs in large, ignored, "boring" sectors. Secha Capital II announced a first close in November 2020.
