Scalar Botswana Innovation Programme (SBIP) Opens Call for Expert Evaluators, Selectors, Venture Coaches and Mentors
The Scalar Botswana Innovation Programme (SBIP) has opened applications for experienced professionals to join its 2026/27 Expert Panel, supporting the growth of Botswana's next generation of climate and deep-tech ventures.
Delivered through a partnership between the Botswana Innovation Fund (BIF) and Scalar International, SBIP is a flagship innovation programme that strengthens Botswana's startup ecosystem by supporting ventures developing scalable solutions in climate technology, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and commercial innovation.
This call is seeking experienced experts to contribute in two distinct roles.
Opportunity 1: Expert Evaluators & Selectors
Experts will support the startup selection process by:
• Assessing innovation merit and commercial viability
• Evaluating scalability and climate impact potential
• Conducting founder interviews
• Providing structured assessments and recommendations

• Founder accountability and growth support

• Ability to mentor founders and innovators operating in fast-paced environments
