Kagiso Trust Invites Proposals to Design and Implement a National Civil Society Organisation Database

Kagiso Trust has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking an experienced technology partner to design, develop, implement and support a comprehensive Civil Society Organisation (CSO) Database for its Civil Society Support Programme (CSSP).

The initiative aims to consolidate fragmented civil society data from multiple government registries into a secure, searchable and scalable national repository, enabling more effective coordination, evidence-based decision-making and targeted support for Civil Society Organisations across South Africa. The database will also provide the digital foundation for Kagiso Trust's future CSSP Trading Hub, a marketplace designed to facilitate collaboration, resource sharing and trade within the civil society sector.

Scope of the RFP

The appointed service provider will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing a unified CSO database
• Integrating data from DSD, CIPC and SARS datasets
• Developing automated data ingestion and validation processes
• Creating advanced search, filtering and reporting capabilities
• Developing a secure self-service registration portal for CSOs
• Delivering executive dashboards and analytics using Microsoft Power BI
• Ensuring POPIA-compliant security and governance
• Providing user training, documentation and post-implementation support
• Designing the platform to support future expansion into the CSSP Trading Hub.
