Ponaletso™ is a digital investigative operations and forensic interviewing platform developed from the Ponaletso Commercial Forensic Interviewing (CFI) Framework at North-West University. The platform is designed to assist investigators in managing cases, interviews, evidence, documents, and investigative workflows within a single environment.

The innovation was inspired by the challenges investigators face when managing investigations across multiple systems and manual processes, often resulting in inefficiencies, inconsistent practices, and fragmented records. The goal was to develop a practical digital solution that supports investigators throughout the investigative lifecycle, from case initiation and interview planning to evidence management, analysis, and reporting.

The platform incorporates investigation management, evidence and chain-of-custody tracking, relationship mapping, document management, and AI-assisted workflow capabilities to improve efficiency, consistency, and auditability.

The intended end users include forensic investigators, forensic accountants, compliance professionals, corporate investigation units, law enforcement agencies, insurance investigators, and other organisations involved in conducting investigations and managing investigative information.
