Overview of innovation

This innovation is a first-in-class antidepressant designed to improve mood, cognitive function, and appetite regulation. Preclinical studies have demonstrated antidepressant effects comparable to existing therapies, with additional benefits for cognition, motivation, and appetite balance.

The innovation was developed to address the limitations of current antidepressants, including treatment resistance, cognitive impairment, and undesirable side effects. The intended end users are patients with major depressive disorder, particularly those who do not respond adequately to existing treatments, with commercialisation through pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.
