Overview of innovation

The Motswadi System is a SIM-card–based technology designed to support parents in protecting their children from cyberbullying and sexting. The SIM card is linked to a mobile application that enables parents to monitor and manage their child’s online activity across mobile phones, tablets, and internet modems.

The name Motswadi is derived from a Sotho word meaning “parent” in English, reflecting its focus on parental guidance and oversight. The SIM card is inserted into a child’s mobile device (compatible with any phone), while the parent requires an internet-enabled device to access and operate the mobile or web-based application.
