Groundnuts are one of the few crops that can thrive in Namibia's dry climate. As a result, many small and large-scale farmers grow a lot of groundnuts each year. The majority of large-scale farmers export their produce to South Africa, whereas small-scale farmers' produce is mostly sold locally on the informal market, with little to no value addition. MoonSnacks, a Windhoek-based Snacks company, was founded in 2021. To make our delicious and crunchy peanut burger snacks, we added value to groundnut sourced locally from small farmers. Our primary target customers are groundnut enthusiasts and consumers on the go who want a quick bite without the hassle.
