Kasi Tech Series: AI, Automation and Cloud for Township Businesses
The Kasi Tech Series is a township-focused digital innovation platform designed to strengthen and scale technology-driven entrepreneurship within South Africa’s township economy. This edition, themed “AI (Artificial Intelligence), Automation and Cloud for Township Businesses,” will provide practical, market-aligned training to equip township-based founders, developers and small businesses with tools that enhance competitiveness and sustainability.
The event aims to bridge the digital capability gap by exposing participants to accessible AI tools, automation strategies and cloud solutions that can drive operational efficiency, reduce manual processes and enable scalable growth. It brings together township tech founders, digital service providers and small businesses seeking to digitise their operations, while fostering meaningful ecosystem connections.
Aligned to real market opportunities and the evolving ICT landscape, the Kasi Tech Series focuses on actionable learning and applied technology adoption rather than theory. The session will unpack:
- Practical AI tools relevant to small and township-based businesses
- Automation strategies that improve efficiency and productivity
- Cloud infrastructure solutions that support scalable digital growth
- Pathways for tech entrepreneurs to move from informal hustle to structured, sustainable enterprises
By convening developers, solution providers and business owners in one space, the platform supports collaboration, knowledge transfer and ecosystem strengthening within township innovation hubs.
This initiative forms part of the broader work of the Township Entrepreneurs Alliance (TEA), which has supported over 130,000 entrepreneurs through training programmes and facilitated grant funding and growth support to more than 500 township-based businesses.
