Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) South Africa 2026 – Deadline Extended
Applications for the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme South Africa (GCIP-SA) 2026 have been extended, giving South African cleantech entrepreneurs additional time to apply for one of the country's leading clean technology business acceleration programmes.
Implemented by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI), the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), GCIP-SA supports innovators developing commercially viable technologies that contribute to climate action, resource efficiency and sustainable development.
Since its launch in South Africa in 2014, the programme has supported more than 100 startups and SMEs, helping participating companies strengthen their business models, attract investment, access international markets and commercialise innovative clean technologies.
Who Should Apply?
Applications are invited from South African early-stage entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs developing innovative clean technology solutions in areas including:
- Renewable energy
- Energy efficiency
- Resource efficiency
- Water efficiency and water solutions
- Waste management and waste beneficiation (including e-waste)
- Green buildings
- Green transportation
- Environmental protection (air, land and marine)
- Other sustainable and climate-focused technologies
