Overview of Organisation

ecotera home is a U.S.-based social enterprise and technology developer focused on democratizing environmental monitoring through portable, AI-powered solutions. Founded in 2025, we developed the EcoExposure™ platform, a field-deployable system that combines biodegradable plant-derived reagents, zero-shear optical interaction, and smartphone-based computer vision to rapidly detect and quantify environmental contaminants in water and other complex liquids without laboratory infrastructure.

The platform has been demonstrated across diverse real-world matrices and geographies, including freshwater, coastal saltwater, urban rivers, and beverages, with an initial focus on microplastic and nanoplastic monitoring while expanding to additional environmental contaminants through ongoing research and development.  Designed for decentralized use by governments, utilities, researchers, NGOs, and local communities, EcoExposure enables scalable environmental surveillance and supports data-driven environmental and public health decision-making where laboratory resources are limited.

Within Nexa projects, ecotera home intends to serve as the technology partner and consultative implementation partner. We provide EcoExposure test kits, the smartphone application, AI-powered image analysis, training, technical support, quality assurance, and guidance on data interpretation and implementation. Our role is to help local lead organizations rapidly deploy practical environmental monitoring that complements climate-informed health surveillance, water quality monitoring, environmental exposure assessment, and broader climate-health initiatives.

As a technology partner, ecotera home supports implementation through technology transfer, capacity building, and ongoing technical collaboration while enabling local organizations to lead deployment, community engagement, and long-term program sustainability. We believe accessible environmental intelligence empowers communities to make more informed decisions and strengthens resilience to climate-related environmental health challenges.
