Overview of Business

CareerKit is a South African education technology (EdTech) company building Africa’s first integrated, gamified career development ecosystem designed to solve youth unemployment and career misalignment at scale.

Founded to address the systemic lack of structured career guidance in schools, CareerKit combines physical experiential tools with a scalable digital infrastructure to help learners discover, prepare for, and transition into high-demand careers.

Our flagship product, the RIASEC Career Discovery Board Game, has impacted over 15,000 learners across South Africa by transforming traditional career guidance into an interactive, psychology-based experience aligned to the Holland Code (RIASEC) framework. This physical product serves as an acquisition funnel into our broader digital ecosystem.

CareerKit is now transitioning into a full EdTech platform anchored by:

Thembi – an AI-powered career counsellor that provides personalised guidance and accountability.
Buzz Platform – a subscription-based digital career navigation ecosystem delivering assessments, industry insights, career roadmaps, and work-readiness learning pathways.
CareerKit Academy – structured, CAPS-aligned career guidance and world-of-work curriculum for Grades 8–11.

Our business model is B2B2C, licensing our platform to schools, corporates (via CSI and workforce development initiatives), and directly to learners through subscriptions.

CareerKit operates at the intersection of career psychology, gamification, and artificial intelligence, creating a scalable, data-driven career navigation infrastructure tailored for emerging markets. Our innovation lies in bridging experiential learning, AI personalisation, and structured curriculum into one integrated system.

With proven traction in physical product distribution and institutional partnerships, CareerKit is positioned to scale into a pan-African digital career guidance infrastructure, enabling millions of young people to make informed, future-aligned career decisions.
