BOTTLEBLACK (PTY) LTD
Bottleblack is a South African private clothing company established on in 2018. We design and produce all our garments at our studio located in Tembisa Ekurhuleni. Nonstikelelo Phumzile Langa is the director and founder of the BottleBlack clothing brand. She has a National Diploma in Fashion Design, a Further Advanced Certificate in Fashion, Design and Pattern Making, a Certificate in Retail Management and a Certificate in Fashion Merchandising. She has over 5 years of retail experience and has worked for two fashion houses as an Assistant Fashion Designer. She has participated in the Johannesburg Fashion Week and was a finalist in the PPC Imaginarium competition. The company has one permanent employee and has groomed several interns in the past.
BottleBlack is a clothing brand that helps women express their individual African identity through our interpretation of South African traditional prints and colours on contemporary fashion trends and silhouettes with a pinch of punk influences.
Young South African women want to showcase their rich and beautiful cultures in their everyday attire and not just on Heritage Day but also when they travel outside of the country and our brand narrates the story of the beautiful rainbow nation called South Africa.
Our brand is both practical and functional. It is also stylish, affordable and of the highest quality.
Our company has two parts: The bespoke (custom made) garments which are made for a client’s individual specific needs, these garments are haute couture and have a lot of detail and stitching techniques incorporated in them. The other part is the ready-to-wear line which is light, everyday streetwear and the line aims to compete with current commercial western brands and influences to establish a distinctively South African presence within the global fashion industry.
