Arsi University (AU) is a public higher education institution located in Asella, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia, approximately 175 kilometres southeast of Addis Ababa. It was established in 2014 after being separated from Adama Science and Technology University. The university is committed to delivering quality education, conducting impactful research, and providing community services that contribute to national development. Arsi University offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programmes across a wide range of disciplines, including agriculture, health sciences, business and economics, engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, education, law, and veterinary medicine. The university has several colleges, schools, and institutes that support interdisciplinary teaching and research. Research and innovation are central to the university's mission. Arsi University focuses on addressing local and national development challenges through applied research in areas such as sustainable agriculture, food security, climate change adaptation, public health, natural resource management, and rural development. The university collaborates with national and international institutions to strengthen research capacity and promote knowledge exchange. Community engagement is another core function of Arsi University. Through outreach programmes, extension services, and partnerships with government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and local communities, the university contributes to improving livelihoods, agricultural productivity, environmental sustainability, and public health.
