Problem Being Addressed

Many young people, particularly in underserved communities, face limited opportunities to develop practical problem-solving, creativity, innovation, communication, and critical-thinking skills. Traditional education systems often focus on content acquisition and examination performance, leaving little room for experiential, project-based, and creative learning.

As a result, many learners struggle to:

  • Apply classroom knowledge to real-world situations
  • Generate innovative solutions to local challenges
  • Communicate their ideas effectively
  • Develop confidence and leadership skills
  • Access pathways into creative and digital industries

AmphiArts BeCreative South Africa addresses these challenges by creating hands-on, project-based learning experiences where participants actively design, create, collaborate, and solve problems. Rather than being passive recipients of information, young people become creators, innovators, and storytellers who use creativity to understand and address issues affecting their communities.

Approach and Value Proposition

What makes our approach different is the combination of arts, storytelling, technology, and real-world problem-solving.

Unlike conventional youth programmes that focus on lectures or isolated skills training, our programmes are:

Learner-Centred

Participants learn by doing, experimenting, creating, and collaborating.

Project-Based

Young people produce tangible outputs such as:

  • Comic books
  • Animations
  • Digital stories
  • Educational campaigns
  • Community awareness projects

Locally Relevant

Content is designed around issues that directly affect participants' communities, including:

  • Water conservation
  • Climate resilience
  • Civic participation
  • Public health awareness
  • Community development

Interdisciplinary

Our programmes combine:

  • Arts
  • Technology
  • Education
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Leadership development

Future-Focused

Participants develop competencies increasingly required in the modern economy, including:

  • Creativity
  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Digital literacy
  • Critical thinking
  • Innovation

This approach helps young people become both creators and problem-solvers while preparing them for further education, employment, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.
