AMETRIX TECHNOLOGIES PTY LTD
Introduction
AMETRIX TECHNOLOGIES (Pty) Ltd is a South African deep-technology company based in Vosloorus, Gauteng, developing proprietary hardware, firmware, and software solutions across industrial sensing, cybersecurity, telemetry, and fintech. Founded in 2026, AMETRIX is building African-owned IP with the ambition of scaling locally developed innovation across the continent and into global markets.
Problem Statement
South African and African industries face significant gaps: asset tracking systems remain costly and import-dependent, leaving fleets and equipment vulnerable to theft and signal jamming; cybersecurity infrastructure lacks adaptive, locally-built resilience tools suited to African threat landscapes; advanced edge-AI sensing remains largely inaccessible to SMEs; industrial consumables such as welding electrodes are predominantly imported despite strong local demand; and millions of informal economy participants remain excluded from digital financial infrastructure.
Technology & Innovation
AMETRIX's portfolio includes the Sympathetic Tracker Architecture (STA) with its Laminar Signal Protocol — an intelligent, jam-resistant LoRa-based tracking and telemetry system using federated edge AI for anomaly detection; an adaptive cybersecurity resilience SDK inspired by biomimetic principles for fraud and intrusion detection; the AMX-7018-TF welding electrode, a locally formulated industrial consumable with provisional patent protection; and fintech infrastructure designed to extend digital payments and verification to informal-economy users via accessible channels such as WhatsApp.
Products & Services
Three provisional patents have been filed for the STA/LSP system, which is being developed in partnership with the TUT Technology Station for prototyping and validation. The AMX-7018-TF electrode has a completed formulation, filed provisional patent, and is in OEM manufacturing discussions. Additional offerings in development include anti-counterfeit verification tools for consumer goods, livestock identification systems, and gas detection/actuation modules for industrial safety.
Impact & Commercialisation
AMETRIX's technologies aim to reduce vehicle and asset theft through more resilient tracking, strengthen national cybersecurity capacity with African-developed tools, localise manufacturing of industrial consumables (reducing import reliance and creating jobs), and expand financial inclusion for informal traders. Funding sought will support prototype validation at technology stations, OEM tooling and certification for the welding electrode, and initial commercial pilots — positioning AMETRIX to scale as a contributor to South Africa's deep-tech sector and a model for African technology ownership.
