Africa Business Accelerator 2026: 8-Week Growth Programme for Ambitious African SMEs and Founders
Applications are now open for the Africa Business Accelerator (ABA) 2026, the flagship growth programme of the Africa SME Assembly designed to help African founders build stronger, more scalable, and investment-ready businesses.
The Africa Business Accelerator was established to address one of the biggest challenges facing African entrepreneurs: the lack of access to the business infrastructure, networks, mentorship, capital readiness support, and market access needed to grow sustainable enterprises.
The programme is designed for founders who have moved beyond the idea stage and are actively building businesses with demonstrated traction and growth potential.
Over an intensive eight-week period, selected founders will receive practical support, structured coaching, operational guidance, access to industry experts, and opportunities to connect with investors, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders from across Africa.
The programme culminates in a Demo Day where the top-performing businesses will pitch to a curated audience of investors, mentors, corporate partners, and ecosystem leaders.
Programme Structure
The accelerator supports founders across five key business growth pillars:
Storytelling
Helping founders develop compelling business narratives, mission statements, vision frameworks, and impact stories that resonate with customers, investors, and partners.
People and Operations
Supporting founders to build high-performing teams, strengthen leadership capabilities, and implement effective operational systems.
Go-to-Market Strategy
Providing practical guidance on customer acquisition, revenue growth, market expansion, and business development strategies.
Product and Operations
Helping businesses refine their products, strengthen operational efficiency, and improve customer value propositions.
Capital Readiness
Preparing founders for investor engagement, fundraising, financial management, and investment opportunities.
