Wasaza Humanitarian Aid
Overview of the Organisation
Wasaza Humanitarian Aid is a community-based humanitarian organization founded in 2016 in Mbale. The organization was established by a group of four secondary school students who visited rural communities in Bukonde and witnessed the serious challenges faced by vulnerable families, including poverty, poor access to healthcare, and lack of basic necessities.
Inspired by these experiences, the founders created the organization with the aim of supporting vulnerable communities through humanitarian assistance, health services, and community development initiatives.
The organization is currently led by Wasaza Shariff, a community-based nurse and humanitarian activist who has dedicated his efforts to improving the well-being of underserved communities.
The main areas of work of Wasaza Humanitarian Aid include:
Supporting vulnerable families with basic necessities such as food and clothing
Community health education and outreach programs
Supporting maternal and child health initiatives
Emergency humanitarian assistance during crises
Community development and empowerment programs
One of the key long-term projects of the organization is the establishment of Wasaza Nursing and Maternity Home in Mbale, aimed at improving access to affordable maternal and child healthcare services for rural communities.
Since its founding, Wasaza Humanitarian Aid has worked closely with community members and volunteers to provide support to those in need, especially orphans, widows, and low-income families.
The organization continues to seek partnerships with individuals, NGOs, and international supporters who share the vision of improving lives and building healthier communities.
